Have you ever wondered how often our Rock Island Fire Department is called out for service? Let's take a look at the numbers from 2004-2023 and see how busy our brave men and women have been serving our community. All data is taken from the City of Rock Island Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, which is available on the city website HERE.

In general, calls for both fire and rescue have increased over time. For rescue runs, a peak came in 2019 with 6,015 rescue runs during the fiscal year. Fire runs peaked in 2022 with 2,021 runs in the fiscal year.
The goal of Rock Island Facts is to publish data with no interpretation. Feel free to leave your own comments about this topic in the comments section.
